Isolated Tarballs Continue Moving East Along the Gulf

Early Saturday morning more reports of isolated nickel to fifty cent sized tarballs coming ashore in FL. These reports have come from as far east as Laguna Beach, which just borders the Panama City Beach city limits.

Crews in the area have been deploying boom in St. Andrews Bay and the pass that is the inlet to the bay, in a effort to keep oil from entering. Due to the tides to the boom that is placed in the pass will have to be removed when the tides are going out of the bay and replaced when tides are returning.

Well, it has been confirmed that tar balls from the Deepwater Horizon Spill have come ashore on the West End of Panama City Beach, FL. Around 8:00 PM late Friday evening is when the first call came in that the tar balls were seen in the Hollywood and Carillon beaches area.

More updates to come after some probing later this morning.
